In her first high fashion editorial exclusively for LUISAVIAROMA.COM, Jasmine Thompson channels the idle teen age.
Girls, in juxtaposition between energy and ennui, become aware of elsewhere. Stillness tempts hearts in a room with no room. This is the calm before the youthquake, where tensions betray intentions and dressing up foreshadows the unraveling of adulthood. This is an age of infinite afternoons, of eyes running up the wall and falling on static time as beauty waits to meet the whole world watching.
"people see truth when it’s online or in person. If you believe in what you do and you really love it then you just keep on going."
Jasmine Thompson is the teen singer-songwriter from London who gained international fame from her YouTube covers “Let Her Go” by Passenger and “Ain’t Nobody” by Chaka Khan. Her story is beyond inspirational: an internet sensation by her mid-teens, Jasmine Thompson’s sizzling voice has appeared in TV show intros, commercials, and is now regularly appearing at the top of the charts around the world. Jasmine dropped by LUISAVIAROMA to open up about her experiences, inspirations and goals.
“People see truth when it’s online or in person. If you believe in what you do and you really love it then you just keep on going. It took me 5 years to get to where I am now. I’m almost at 2 million subscribers on YouTube and I’m so happy.”
