A workshop curated by Valentina Guidi Ottobri For the "Il Sogno di FELIX" project In collaboration with Caritas Napoli, in the heart of Acerra This workshop is conceived as a collective experience of construction and imagination, where each participant is invited to design and build their own house using cardboard and glued paper—simple materials that, once layered, provide structure and protection. The accessible and transformative technique of papier-mâché allows children to experience a process of strengthening and caring for the object, making the transition from fragile to resilient visible. Each “house” begins as an individual expression, free from formal constraints and open to invention—whether the architecture is possible, impossible, or merely imagined. The act of building thus becomes a symbolic gesture linked to the concepts of shelter, identity, and belonging. The individual dwellings are then gathered and installed in a shared space, shaping an imaginary city that is constantly evolving. In this phase, individual work expands into a collective dimension: the city emerges as a choral landscape, the result of the coexistence of diverse differences, visions, and narratives. The workshop thus sparks an implicit reflection on urban space as a shared construct, where every element contributes to defining a possible way of living together.
