PRINTEMPS’ FIRST NEW YORK CONCEPT IN THE LANDMARK ONE WALL STREET BUILDING REVOLUTIONIZES THE RETAIL DESIGN LANDSCAPE
HOME BUYING AND ART CURATION
NEW YORK (MARCH 21) — Printemps New York at One Wall Street, in New York’s rapidly evolving Financial District, reimagines retail, just as the first Printemps on Boulevard Haussmann did 160 years ago. It creates a vibrant destination where retail, dining, hospitality, and culture converge to create an unparalleled experience. “Building on our Parisian roots and DNA of innovation, we wanted to create a new concept in New York,” said Jean-Marc Bellaiche, CEO of Printemps Group.“Printemps New York is not a department store, instead it represents a visionary approach to the future of retail - where we seamlessly integrate retail, hospitality, dining, and innovative programming with a curated approach to fashion and lifestyle, allowing us to continually adapt and evolve to meet the needs of today’s discerning consumers.” Within its 55,000 square feet, across two floors, Printemps New York features five distinct food and beverage experiences ranging from casual cafe to fine dining, a decadent cocktail bar, beauty and wellness treatment rooms, clothing and accessory repair, and flexible spaces that can morph and adapt to showcase different designers, artists, events, and more. To carry out this vision, and to take on the daunting task of unifying a landmark Art Deco building and its newer extension - a 1960’s built modern glass and metal tower - Printemps worked with architect Laura Gonzalez. Renowned for her bold, masterful layering of patterns and materials, Gonzalez began her design journey for the New York space in the archives of Printemps Paris. With the Creative and merchindising direction of Silvano Vangi.
